just wanted to share a progress update on a game im working on in my spare time for fun. there are still parts that need to be improved/finished but this is just a progress update:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=A56Vhw…it is mostly just demonstrating combat with the three distinct types of ship, again the green guys im fighting are not fully textured so they all look the same, however the blue team have distinct types for each of the three types.
The ship second from the left on the bottom row is a missile ship, it fires its missiles from the gap running down the center of the ship. The ship second from the right on the top row is a rocket ship, it fires unguided rockets from its rotating turret.
Every other ship in the blue flotilla is a ballistics ship each of with is armed with an autocannon for taking out fighters and maybe corvettes.
using some clever trigonometry which i stole from the movement code the ships will attempt to predict where their target will be when the projectile reaches it and corrects it's aim accordingly, but there is a little spray on the ballistics ships to make things interesting still.
the large station can also produce more ships, but only ballistics frigates at the moment, so enjoy. i will post more updates as i make more improvements.
